Rich started working horses at a Christian summer camp in his teens and fell in love with them. He started his own business training problem horses and starting colts in 1998. The business grew into showing versatility, reined cow horse, and reining. In 2006 he started showing horses - cutting horses. It’s been his passion ever since.
On Labor Day weekend 2017 he was showing in Graham Tx. He didn’t feel well but had loyal friends and customers counting on him. He opted not to show on Monday 9/4/17 He ended up in the ER with a 2 1/2 inch brain tumor that turned out to be the worst possible diagnosis. Glioblastoma multiform. It is a terminal brain cancer with a life expectancy of 14.6 months. Rich has had 2 brain surgeries, several trial therapies, chemo, radiation and is still fighting every day, but now needs help with all daily activities. His wife has stayed with him all but 2 months of the last 15 to help him.
